Paradeim secures a partnership with Sri Lankan radio station TNL Radio Network to launch The TNL Rocks Podcast, a limited series podcast that gives listeners the chance to relive the best moments of TNL Rocks in the form of episodic deep dives into the culture, music, and a celebration of the history of TNL Radio as it gears up to its 30th year.
Minusha Wickremesinghe, Director, Legal and Business at TNL Radio Network said: “Podcasts have become incredibly popular worldwide because they are curated to our tastes and interests, are on-demand, and fit well into our busy lifestyles. It’s fantastic to see a Sri Lankan company spearheading this initiative. At a time when South Asian culture, books, art, and cinema are making a mark around the world, this is a great platform to take South Asian voices and stories to the world.”
TNL Rocks brings back fond memories from the 90s and early 2000s when the beats of alternative and rock moved across the airwaves. Arguably, an entire generation’s culture was defined by this one radio station.
Even today, TNL Rocks stands out as a brand that defined a generation’s youth; with the old frequency “101.7” still fresh in many people’s minds. On top of that, a lot of the big names you’ll hear on the radio and elsewhere in the local entertainment industry either started at or passed through the TNL Radio Network on their journey to where and who they are today, and we’re bringing some of them back to share their stories.
“Radio is an adaptable medium and has always played well with other mediums. The rise of social media has made it possible for radio to do even more, and to reach a wider audience than ever before. I see this podcast as a great way to connect with listeners both old and new and to create content unfettered by the boundaries of traditional media, and we’re very pleased to partner with Paradeim” said Minusha Wickremesinghe, Director, Legal and Business at TNL Radio Network.
